No name...Just a Story of pain and triumph

Pariah House Cosmetics has teamed up with Alyssa Skewes, a CRPS survivor and advocate, to create a collection that: inspires others, educates others about the struggles of CRPS as an illness in order to bring awareness to this commonly misunderstood disease, and illuminates her recovery. Each shade is customized to tell her story through color.
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, also known as the “Suicide Disease,” is a disease that causes a disruption and malfunction to the Autonomic Nervous System. Many people suffering from CRPS describe feeling severe sensitivity and a fire or ice sensation, which has earned CRPS the most painful disease on the pain scale called the “McGill Scale.” CRPS registers higher than the pain associated with amputation or child birth. Currently there is no cure, but with the evolution of technology and science, there are clinics now treating this disease and helping some reach remission. Many people with CRPS suffer for years without being properly diagnosed. Unfortunately, due to misdiagnosis and lack of awareness, CRPS sufferers struggle to find medical professionals with the necessary tools to treat their pain and disease as a whole. CRPS can often spread to other areas of the body.
CRPS Awareness month is November and supporters year round wear orange. The orange ribbon (bookmark), used by CRPS supporters and sufferers, symbolizes the undoing of the ribbon by CRPS warriors on their journey to remission as well as recognizing that they are not “bound” to this disease.
Each color and name in this collection was carefully selected to help represent the journey for those with CRPS.
With the efforts of patients, doctors, and supporters like Pariah House Cosmetics, I’m proud to announce the portion of the proceeds from this palette will be donated to a CRPS Non-Profit.
